Consultations

I start with an in-depth hour-long consultation to review medical histories and get a thorough understanding of the pet and their unique, individual lifestyle. I work with owners to address their concerns, answer questions and make sure our goals are aligned.  A complete physical exam includes measurements such as muscle mass and goniometry and well as gait analysis. From this consultation, we develop a comprehensive treatment plan that includes a combination of therapies chosen to meet the patient's needs, home exercises, recommendations for lifestyle adjustments and timeline for our plan.

Multimodal Pain Management

I take into consideration all the pain management therapies available when forming a plan - medications, herbals and supplements, surgical options and external supports such as braces and prostethics. This allows us to determine which combination of therapies will work best for each patient.

Hydrotherapy

At Veterinary Holistic Center, I utilize an underwater treadmill to provide hydrotherapy options. The support and resistance of water can be used to provide support or strengthen depending on the treatment goal.

Acupuncture + Dry Needling

Acupuncture is an option for patients dealing with chronic pain or weakness from orthopedic and neurologic conditions. Dry needling is a slightly different technique that can be used to help address trigger points that can cause persistent pain and loss of function.

Physiotherapy

Getting pets to perform specific movements and exercises can be challenging. In veterinary rehab I utilize various types of equipment and techniques to engage specific muscles in targeted exercises for increasing strength, balance and flexibility.

Home Exercise Program

Every consultation includes development of a home program that owners can perform at home to act as the sole regimine or to compliment in-clinic treatments.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy includes massage and  stretching as well as spinal and joint mobilizations. I often use a combination of these techniques depending on the patient and the conditions being treated.
